Amos

1:1ThewordsofAmos，whowasamongtheherdmenofTekoa，whichhesawconcerningIsraelinthedaysofUzziahkingofJudah，andinthedaysofJeroboamthesonofJoashkingofIsrael，twoyearsbeforetheearthquake.

1:2Andhesaid，TheLORDwillroarfromZion，andutterhisvoicefromJerusalem;andthehabitationsoftheshepherdsshallmourn，andthetopofCarmelshallwither.

1:3ThussaiththeLORD;ForthreetransgressionsofDamascus，andforfour，Iwillnotturnawaythepunishmentthereof;becausetheyhavethreshedGileadwiththreshinginstrumentsofiron:

1:4ButIwillsendafireintothehouseofHazael，whichshalldevourthepalacesofBenhadad.

1:5IwillbreakalsothebarofDamascus，andcutofftheinhabitantfromtheplainofAven，andhimthatholdeththesceptrefromthehouseofEden:andthepeopleofSyriashallgointocaptivityuntoKir，saiththeLORD.

1:6ThussaiththeLORD;ForthreetransgressionsofGaza，andforfour，Iwillnotturnawaythepunishmentthereof;becausetheycarriedawaycaptivethewholecaptivity，todeliverthemuptoEdom:

1:7ButIwillsendafireonthewallofGaza，whichshalldevourthepalacesthereof:

1:8AndIwillcutofftheinhabitantfromAshdod，andhimthatholdeththesceptrefromAshkelon，andIwillturnminehandagainstEkron:andtheremnantofthePhilistinesshallperish，saiththeLordGOD.

1:9ThussaiththeLORD;ForthreetransgressionsofTyrus，andforfour，Iwillnotturnawaythepunishmentthereof;becausetheydeliveredupthewholecaptivitytoEdom，andrememberednotthebrotherlycovenant:

1:10ButIwillsendafireonthewallofTyrus，whichshalldevourthepalacesthereof.

1:11ThussaiththeLORD;ForthreetransgressionsofEdom，andforfour，Iwillnotturnawaythepunishmentthereof;becausehedidpursuehisbrotherwiththesword，anddidcastoffallpity，andhisangerdidtearperpetually，andhekepthiswrathforever:

1:12ButIwillsendafireuponTeman，whichshalldevourthepalacesofBozrah.

1:13ThussaiththeLORD;ForthreetransgressionsofthechildrenofAmmon，andforfour，Iwillnotturnawaythepunishmentthereof;becausetheyhaverippedupthewomenwithchildofGilead，thattheymightenlargetheirborder:

1:14ButIwillkindleafireinthewallofRabbah，anditshalldevourthepalacesthereof，withshoutinginthedayofbattle，withatempestinthedayofthewhirlwind:

1:15Andtheirkingshallgointocaptivity，heandhisprincestogether，saiththeLORD.

2:1ThussaiththeLORD;ForthreetransgressionsofMoab，andforfour，Iwillnotturnawaythepunishmentthereof;becauseheburnedthebonesofthekingofEdomintolime:

2:2ButIwillsendafireuponMoab，anditshalldevourthepalacesofKirioth:andMoabshalldiewithtumult，withshouting，andwiththesoundofthetrumpet:

2:3AndIwillcutoffthejudgefromthemidstthereof，andwillslayalltheprincesthereofwithhim，saiththeLORD.

2:4ThussaiththeLORD;ForthreetransgressionsofJudah，andforfour，Iwillnotturnawaythepunishmentthereof;becausetheyhavedespisedthelawoftheLORD，andhavenotkepthismandments，andtheirliescausedthemtoerr，afterthewhichtheirfathershavewalked:

2:5ButIwillsendafireuponJudah，anditshalldevourthepalacesofJerusale

2:6ThussaiththeLORD;ForthreetransgressionsofIsrael，andforfour，Iwillnotturnawaythepunishmentthereof;becausetheysoldtherighteousforsilver，andthepoorforapairofshoes;

2:7Thatpantafterthedustoftheearthontheheadofthepoor，andturnasidethewayofthemeek:andamanandhisfatherwillgoinuntothesamemaid，toprofanemyholyname:

2:8Andtheylaythemselvesdownuponclotheslaidtopledgebyeveryaltar，andtheydrinkthewineofthecondemnedinthehouseoftheirgod.

2:9YetdestroyedItheAmoritebeforethem，whoseheightwasliketheheightofthecedars，andhewasstrongastheoaks;yetIdestroyedhisfruitfromabove，andhisrootsfrombeneath.

2:10AlsoIbroughtyouupfromthelandofEgypt，andledyoufortyyearsthroughthewilderness，topossessthelandoftheAmorite.

2:11AndIraisedupofyoursonsforprophets，andofyouryoungmenforNazarites.Isitnoteventhus，OyechildrenofIsrael?saiththeLORD.

2:12ButyegavetheNazariteswinetodrink;andmandedtheprophets，saying，Prophesynot.

2:13Behold，Iampressedunderyou，asacartispressedthatisfullofsheaves.

2:14Thereforetheflightshallperishfromtheswift，andthestrongshallnotstrengthenhisforce，neithershallthemightydeliverhimself:

2:15Neithershallhestandthathandleththebow;andhethatisswiftoffootshallnotdeliverhimself:neithershallhethatrideththehorsedeliverhimself.

2:16Andhethatiscourageousamongthemightyshallfleeawaynakedinthatday，saiththeLORD.

3:1HearthiswordthattheLORDhathspokenagainstyou，OchildrenofIsrael，againstthewholefamilywhichIbroughtupfromthelandofEgypt，saying，

3:2YouonlyhaveIknownofallthefamiliesoftheearth:thereforeIwillpunishyouforallyouriniquities.

3:3Cantwowalktogether，excepttheybeagreed?

3:4Willalionroarintheforest，whenhehathnoprey?willayounglioncryoutofhisden，ifhehavetakennothing?
